The Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees will feature two new faces when it meets Monday.

Mark Welding and Kris Vaughn won the election for places 3 and 4, respectively, during Saturday's election while incumbent Brenda Latham won re-election in Place 5.

A man who's spent his life teaching others to build homes will soon leave a place he's called home for 39 years.

Stephen Burgett, construction technology teacher at McKinney High School, is retiring. His legacy: 13 McKinney houses, thousands of former students and a longstanding mark on a seemingly limitless trade.

Softball: Null blanks Keller, Marcus headed to regional finals

Marcus starting pitcher Hannah Null was at her best when her team needed her most Saturday, throwing a one-hit shut out victory over Keller, 1-0, at Colleyville Heritage to send the Lady Marauders to the UIL Class 5A Region I Final where they will meet rival Lewisville.

Marcus battled back after dropping Game 1 Thursday, 3-0, to even the series 1-1 with a 3-2 win Friday scoring twice in their final at-bat.
