SAN MARCOS -- After Friday night's semifinal match where his defending Class 3A champions struggled with passing, serving and hitting errors and narrowly escaped with a win over Wimberley, Lovejoy volleyball head coach Ryan Mitchell had a question for his team as he gathered them in a hotel room.
"I asked them what they wanted to be remembered for,” he said. “Are you going to be known as a team that came out and played emotionless and played less than your ability? Or are you going to come out and punch the other team in the mouth.”
