James O. Bratton, Sr., 68, of Lewisville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 31, 2008. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a devoted husband, father, brother, adoring grandfather, uncle, and lifelong follower of Jesus Christ.
He was born December 9, 1939 in Cookeville, TX, to J.D. Bratton and Ima Cox Bratton. Jim served in the United States Navy for four years. He married Sara Rice Blount on March 16, 1984 in Lewisville. Jim retired from The Colony High School in 2006 and was a faithful member of Lake Shore Baptist Church in Lake Dallas.
He will be missed by his loving family: wife, Sara; children, James O. Bratton, Jr., and his wife, Lisa, of Fort Worth, Rebecca Minyard and her husband, Bill, of Keller, Robert Blount and Michael Bratton both of Lewisville; grandchildren, Bobby, Ariel, Rachel and Mitchell; sister, Judy Morgan of Everett, Washington, and brother, Charly Bratton and his wife, Vicki, of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Lake Shore Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville. Rev. Homer Walkup will officiate.
