PALMER
Mr. Joe Willis Palmer, 67, a lifelong resident of McKinney, passed away May 23, 2008.
He was born February 6, 1941, to Dennis and Mattie Bell (Holmes) Palmer in McKinney. He was married to Vida Joyce Brown. Mr. Palmer worked for the City of Garland. He was a member of the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church where he was active in Sunday school and the men’s department.
He is survived by his daughters, Dorothy Palmer of McKinney and Brenda Joyce Palmer of Dallas, Texas; mother, Mattie Bell Palmer; sisters, Mattie Mack and husband, Bobby and Rosie Smith; and brother, Dennis Palmer Jr. and wife, Betty all of McKinney; special friend, Lisa Leeks; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Pastor Franklin Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
