Fall Registration is underway at area community colleges

Fall Registration is underway at both the Dallas County Community College District, which includes Eastfield and Richland colleges and at Collin College, which has campuses in Plano and Rockwall.
Students returning to either Richland or Eastfield can register on campus with an advisor or program specialist or online through www.eConnect.dcccd.edu.
New students must register in person through an advisor.
At Eastfield, registration and admissions hours are Monday - Thursday 8 a.m. n 7 p.m.; Friday 9 a.m. n 4:30 p.m. Saturday Registration is Aug. 23 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the C Building (C119).
At Richland, the hours are Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. in Thunderduck Hall, T-180.

For those who don’t want to spend much time on campus, both schools offers hybrid and on-line classes which allow students to save gas and time.
Eastfield also offers English for Speakers of Other Languages for college credit. These courses meet the needs of ESOL speakers wanting to earn a college degree.
The college also has scholarships available for students who plan on majoring in Computer science, engineering, mathematics, technology or science.

Eastfield College is located at 3737 Motley Drive in Mesquite, just north of I-30. Richland College is located at 12800 Abrams Road in Dallas.
At Collin College, fall registration will continue through Aug. 31.
Students can view class schedules and register through CougarWeb, the college’s new portal available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Students can find a shortcut button on the college’s home page at www.ccccd.edu or they can log in directly to http://cougarweb.ccccd.edu. Once logged in, click Registration Tools on the home tab. For help logging into the portal, call the Student Help Desk at 972.377.1777.
Students can also view the class schedules outside of the portal at www.ccccd.edu/schedules.html.
The college accepts VISA, MasterCard or Discover credit cards online. Personal checks are accepted in person or over the web using the college’s secure Webcheck program.

Collin College also signed on Dallas Baptist University (DBU) as the 10th college or university to provide seamless transfer to earn a bachelor’s degree after completing one’s core credits at the community college.
The agreement was signed today and will go into effect in the fall 2008.
As part of the Patriot Partner Program, Collin College students who meet DBU’s transfer admission requirements will be guaranteed admission to DBU and be ensured of a seamless transfer of credits earned at Collin College
They also have access to DBU’s advisors, library, fitness center, writing center and math lab. They also receive free admission to DBU athletic events.
Other partner institutions include: Austin College, Baylor University, Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M University, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas Tech University, Texas Woman’s University, The University of Texas at Dallas, the University of North Texas.
