McKinney: League of Women Voters sponsors Collin County candidate forum
From Staff Reports
The League of Women Voters will sponsor a special candidates forum Saturday for Collin County Commissioner and Tax Assessor-Collector candidates.
Precinct 3 Commissioner candidates Joe Jaynes, Republican, and Victor Manuel, Democrat, will be participating.
The forum will allow members of the audience -- all Collin County residents are invited -- to ask questions. Candidates for County Sheriff were invited but were unable to participate, according to a news release.
The forum is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Plano/Collin County, and the McKinney Chamber of Commerce. League member Janet Imhoff of McKinney will moderate the forum.
This is the League’s first forum in McKinney, although they have held candidates forums for many years in Plano, and moderated them by invitation in various county locations.
The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization that works to promote political responsibility through active, informed participation of all citizens in their government. The League neither supports nor opposes any political party or candidate. To inquire about the event, please call Janet Imhoff at (972) 547-4270.
