Two men are being investigated in the attempted burglary of the apartment of a Dallas Police Officer.
Sgt. Kevin Perlich, Richardson police spokesman, said two individuals meeting the description turned themselves in to the Medical Center of Plano, one with a gunshot wound.
"We have no confirmation that these are the individuals who committed the offense," Perlich said. "One of the individuals is in surgery. We'll have to wait for that to conclude."
Perlich said the Dallas officer shot at one of the male suspects, possibly hitting him.
"The individuals attempted to break into the police officer's apartment and he was home at the time," Perlich said. "He confronts these guys and fired off a shot. We are still trying to find out if someone was hit."
He said the two suspects fled by foot into a heavily wooded area near Alma Drive and the George Bush Turnpike. Perlich said their location is unknown at this time.
Plano police are assisting Richardson in an attempt to locate the men.
