Softball: Dragons blank Farmers
BY JUSTIN THOMAS, Staff writer
Lewisville’s softball team had what coach Lori Alexander described as “one of those nights where we didn’t hit” Tuesday as the Farmers dropped a District 6-5A game at Southlake Carroll, 8-0.
Alexander tried a different strategy, using three different pitchers, but couldn’t slow the Lady Dragons.
Valerie Anzaldua started and allowed three runs in two innings before giving way to Krysta O’Neal, who surrendered four runs in two innings. Junior varsity call-up Alyssa Barker tossed the final two innings, allowing one run.
Hailey Howerton had two hits, while Devon Duran came up with the Farmers other base hit.
“We made mistakes in the field and also on the bases,” Alexander added. “We just need to regain our focus and we can get back to where we need to be.”
The Farmers continue at 7 p.m. Thursday at Marcus, who defeated Lewisville March 10, 10-1.
