McKinney Boyd players bound for Italy

Two McKinney Boyd Varsity Softball players have been selected to participate on the USA Athletes International Softball Team to compete at the Chianti Series in Italy this summer. With the exception of the U.S. Olympic program, there are few opportunities for athletes to experience the competition, history and culture of other countries, as well as showcase their talents on an international level.

Elizabeth Lindsey and Jenna Walton, sophomores at McKinney Boyd are excited about this awesome opportunity and have already started packing their bags.

Jenna has played 1st base and outfield for the Varsity Softball team the last two years. She also plays for the 18U AXE Softball Association during her high school off-season.

Jenna volunteers her time to assist with clinics for young softball athlete’s, as well as, holds a part-time job at a local carwash. In 2008, Jenna was recognized for Academic All-Districtn9-4A and currently holds a GPA of 3.75.

Elizabeth Lindsey, daughter of Troy and Lara Lindsey started playing softball at the age of 5 through the McKinney Girls Softball Association. She began playing competitively on club teams at 10 years old until the present. She was Boyd’s Varsity MVP in 2008 as well as 9-4A All District pitcher and All Collin County Pitcher.
