Softball: Lady M’s, Lady Jaguars finish tied for first, head to playoffs
BY RICKY MOORE, Staff Writer
After 10 District 6-5A softball games, Marcus and Flower Mound ended in a dead-heat for the district title.
Marcus and Flower Mound each won their final district games Saturday to finish with identical 9-1 district marks. The squads used a coin flip to determine seeding with Marcus (23-6) taking the top seed and Flower Mound (22-6) the second seed.
Saturday, Marcus defeated Hebron, 5-0, and Flower Mound downed Coppell, 3-2, to keep the teams tied.
Last season, Flower Mound advanced to the Region I semifinals where the Lady Jaguars lost in two games to Weatherford. Marcus lost in the opening-round of the playoffs to Colleyville Heritage in three games.
