Published: Friday, May 22, 2009 7:46 AM CDT
-Edward Ji asked for a new trial, contesting evidence allowed into his trial for attempted capital murder earlier this year. Ji was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for shooting a 14-year-old who answered the door in 2006 during what Ji referred to as “a hunting” trip..

Visiting judge Quay Parker denied the request. Ji’s attorney, David Haynes said Ji would not appeal the conviction.

-Leslie Herlehy’s jury trial did not go forward due to conflicts in court scheduling. Herlehy is accused of soliciting the murder of her ex-husband in 2007.

- Philippe Padieu is on trial, accused of intentionally exposing six women to HIV through sexual intercourse. Padieu was indicted in 2007. That jury trial is underway before Judge Curt Henderson.
