Frisco chamber growing
197 new members netted in three-day membership drive
By Jan Bellamy, staff writer
The Frisco Chamber of Commerce is growing when others are not. This week’s membership drive netted at least 197 new members, more than the 150 goal, and more than $74,800 in revenue.
Success is due in large part to the team competition model used.
About 105 current chamber members divided into teams to compete for which one could bring in the highest number of new members and fees. Membership options range from $295 to $10,000.
The winning team was led by Dennis James, Bank of the Ozarks. James’s team toppled last year’s champion team leader, Michael Hitchcock of FC Dallas, from the top spot.
When compared with last year’s membership drive, this year’s effort exceeded revenue raised by more than $2,800.
