From Staff Reports
Eastfield College Pleasant Grove Campus at 802 S. Buckner Blvd. in Dallas will open its doors on July 6. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Aug. 3 from 2 to 5 p.m.
Eastfield College’s new 45,000-square-foot facility will provide educational opportunities for area residents. The campus will feature a state-of-the-art computer lab, student-centered learning studios, electronic library and a community room with kitchen.
“The Eastfield College Pleasant Grove Campus represents access to higher education where it hasn’t been before — in the neighborhood, close to home,” said DCCCD Chancellor Dr. Wright Lassiter.
The Pleasant Grove Campus will assist residents with obtaining skills and training needed to be successful and to provide a better living for themselves and their families.
"It is very reassuring to see Eastfield College once again lead the way in providing very necessary higher educational opportunities, for not only our Hispanic youth and business owners in Pleasant Grove, but the entire community at large." Said Ralph Castro, Southeast Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce president.
