Many events lead to National Night Out
By Sgt. Adam Henderson, Special Contributor
The ever popular National Night Out event that neighborhoods and residents of The City of Frisco have come to love and look forward to each year is to be held later this year. This year’s National Night Out for Frisco is set for Oct. 13, which is one week later than the date set for most other Texas cities.
National Night Out festivities begin with a Battle of the Badges blood drive that will run Sept. 23n26 at various locations throughout the city. The annual blood drive matches the city’s finest police and fire departments against one another to see who can donate the most, all going to a charitable cause. The blood drive is followed up by the Green Home, Health & Safety Fair to be held 9-1 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Frisco Athletic Center , 5828 Nancy Jane Lane. The fair is designed to promote safety, education, and awareness within the community.
Following the blood drive and safety fair is the Good vs. Good Basketball Game, which is set for 7 p.m. Oct. 10 at Frisco High School, 6401 Parkwood Blvd. The basketball game pits the best players from the police and fire departments against one another. Come support your city’s public servants as the police department will be looking to make it three straight wins against the fire department.
