Hockey: Marcus can’t string together consecutive wins
BY JUSTIN THOMAS, Staff writer
Marcus’ hockey team has shown they have the talent to be successful.
Through the first five games of the AT&T Metroplex High School Hockey League, the Marauders (2-3) have earned wins against Southlake Carroll and Richardson which are both in second place in their respective divisions.
But Marcus has lacked consistency, as the team lost Thursday against Rockwall, 5-3. They have now alternated losses and wins in each of their first five games.
Marcus received goals from Michael Kissinger, Justin George and Matt Brauch on assists by Kyle Michels, Austin Green and John Deines.
The Yellow Jackets weren’t discouraged as Rockwall stormed back with five third-period goals, including a pair on the power play, to regain the lead and hold on for the win.
Jason Laubacher made 30 saves for Marcus while David White stopped 31 shots for Rockwall.
Marcus plays next at 9 p.m. Thursday against Garland at the Dr Pepper StarCenter in McKinney.
