Husband kills wife in tragic accident

A Mesquite woman was killed last night when her husband accidentally struck her with his vehicle as he was backing out of the driveway.
Lynn Ray, driving a Ford F-150 pickup, struck Diana L. Ray, 54, shortly before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 2620 Hyacinth, according to police reports.
Lynn and his wife had been looking for the family dog. Diana located the pet and placed it in the back of the truck, then began walking back to their residence. Lynn did not see her in the alleyway and struck her as he began backing up, according to police reports.
According to police, this is the first traffic fatality in 2010. The investigation is still ongoing by the Mesquite Police Department Traffic Section.
