NNO moves back to August - The Colony Police Department invites the community to join them in participating in National Night Out for 2010. This year’s event will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3. TCPD encourages all neighbors throughout The Colony to participate in the nationwide crime and drug prevention event.

National Night Out is supported by the National Association of Town Watch and in part by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs, and the U.S. Department of Justice.

To make this year as successful as in years past, TCPD requests participation, as follows: Notify your neighbors to turn on their porch lights and come outside; organize a block party; and, register your party with The Colony Police Department.

National Night Out helps strengthen neighborhood sprit and reinforces police-community partnerships to make the community a safer place to live and play, according to a release.
