Rowlett has strong weekend at Scotland Yard Classic

Rowlett posted a 4-1 record at the Highland Park Scotland Yard Classic to improve to 9-5 on the season. The Eagles capped the tournament with a 6-5 victory over Klein Oak.
Rowlett had split a pair of games on Friday, edging district rival Sachse, 9-8, and dropping a 9-6 decision to Keller.
The Eagles were scheduled to return to district action on Tuesday against North Garland. Rowlett is then supposed to play Texarkana on Thursday before hosting Naaman Forest next Tuesday.
Sachse had a rougher time at the Scotland Yard Classic as it fell to 3-7.
In the opener on Thursday, the Mustangs came close but fell just short in n 8-7 loss to host Highland Park.
Eric Williams had a pair of doubles, while Ray Ashford, Zach Costa and Micah Collins added extra base hits but it was not enough.
Sachse lost all three games it played on Friday. In addition to the loss to Rowlett, the Mustangs also fell to Klein Oak, 11-3, and to Midland, 10-3.
Sachse had opened the tournament with a 7-1 loss to TCA. Eric Burl had a double for the Mustangs but it was one of just two hits.
