A&M-Commerce student dead, three injured in accidents

COMMERCE, Texas - Two separate traffic accidents involving Texas A&M University - Commerce students occurred Thursday night on Highway 24/50, killing one and injuring three others.
Malorie Elise Bullock, 19 of Sherman, was killed Thursday night and another student hospitalized following a one vehicle wreck along Highway 24/50 near Campbell.
Reports say Bullock was riding on the back of a motorcycle traveling northbound with 19-year-old Tanner Bryant Burnett of Commerce when the accident occurred.
Both Bullock and Burnett were said to be wearing helmets.
Burnett suffered broken bones and was listed in serious condition at Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
“The Honors College family is deeply saddened by the loss of one its brightest lights,” said Dr. Green, dean of the Honors College. “Malorie Bullock was intelligent, kind, beautiful, and spirited. We at the Honors College will miss her and will forever cherish the memories of the time that we got to spend with her. Our prayers go out to her family and friends.”
“Counseling services are available to students in Room 204 of the Halladay Student Services Building,” said Dr. Mary Hendrix, A&M-Commerce vice president of student access and success.
The other accident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m., when two other A&M-Commerce students were injured after being struck by a vehicle along Highway 50.
According to Commerce Police, the male and female students were walking eastbound along the crosswalk toward campus when struck by a northbound vehicle.
The female victim was transported to Parkland Hospital in Dallas with undisclosed injuries. The condition of the male student, who landed in the median after being struck, was unknown. His injuries were said to be non life threatening.
No names have been released.
Additional information will be released as it becomes available later this afternoon.
