Baseball: Marcus’ Senato accepts head coaching position at Sherman

Former Marcus baseball coach Art Senato has accepted the head coaching position at Sherman.

Senato led the Marauders to the regional semifinals and regional finals in each of the past two seasons, respectively.

“I look back at Marcus with fond memories,” Senato said. “The kids were great and more important than the wins were the relationships I built with the players there. I know I will keep in touch with them and them the same with me.”

WEB EXCLUSIVE: Ryan Ford commits to Texas

Plano West graduate and four-year starting first baseman Ryan Ford confirmed that he has committed to continue his career on the diamond at Texas.


Ford, who was also drafted by the Houston Astros last week, completed his varsity career Friday afternoon when the Wolves lost to Klein, 4-3, in the Class 5A State Semifinals.

Ford made his official commitment to the Longhorns on Monday night.
