Neiman's announces its Top 10 women

Published: Sunday, August 15, 2010 11:43 PM CDT
Collin County is one of the most affluent counties in Texas and isn't afraid to share its success with those in need. An example of this would be Neiman Marcus Willow Bend's "Top Ten Women of Collin County" award. The award recognizes and celebrates women leaders of the county who advocate nonprofit missions of the county.

Each charity nominates a woman they feel best exemplifies their efforts and who has made a significant impact on the Collin County community. The charities are selected by winners from the previous year.

"Neiman Marcus Willow Bend is honored to host the Top Ten Women of Collin County event again this year on Sept. 10," said Marcus Wyss, vice president and general manager of Neiman Marcus Willow Bend. "Each charity chose an honoree based on her dedication and commitment to make a difference in the Collin County community. They truly have made a significant impact on our society."

The women and the charities who selected them are as follows, in no particular order:

·  Linda Pardue - Arts of Collin County

·  Joy Darling - Boys and Girls Club of Collin County

·  Danya Anderson - Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)

·  Trudy Hale - Chamberlain Performing Arts

·  Diana Estell - Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County

·  Joyce Houlihan - Children's Medical Center at Legacy

·  Candice Ort - City House

·  Jacqueline Bowman - Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

·  Sheri Steel - Junior League of Plano

·  Sharon Defalco - Plano Symphony

The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 10 with The Top Ten Women of Collin County Luncheon and presentation to honor these women.

"The Art of Fashion presentation will highlight the top 10 trends for fall 2010 and Miss Texas 2010, Ashley Melnick, will perform during the luncheon," Wyss said.

Each honoree will walk the runway and will be presented with a gift from Wyss and Plano Mayor Phil Dyer.

"I am also excited to announce Margaret Omorovicza, founder and creator of the Hungarian-based skin care line Omorovicza, will serve as our guest speaker for the occasion," Wyss said.

Her speech will be followed by a fashion presentation, which will address the top 10 trends for the fall season.

Limited tickets are $150 and can be purchased by contacting one of the 10 charities. Proceeds will benefit the charity from which attendees purchase their event ticket.
