Roberti withdraws from Frisco council race
By Bill Conrad, bconrad@acnpapers.com
Bobby Roberti has pulled out of the race for Frisco City Council Place 6. Roberti’s withdrawal leaves two candidates for Place 6: incumbent Scott Johnson and challenger John C. Classe.
Roberti said the withdrawal was because his and Johnson’s political views are too similar.
“After a long conversation with Scott Johnson, I have decided that it is in the best interest of Frisco to withdraw my bid for [Place 6] and join the Scott Johnson re-election campaign,” Roberti said in a statement. “Since our views are so similar, we would be drawing from the same voter base and that would detract from the message of fighting for the Frisco taxpayer that both Scott and I adamantly support. I am, however, committed to representing the residents of Frisco and will run for the next open council seat. I believe that the city will be best served if both Scott and I are on the council together.”
