Man commits suicide off Galloway bridge on I-30

Mesquite police were called to the Galloway Avenue bridge on I-30 at approximately 4 a.m. this morning by reports that a man was threatening to jump off the bridge. The man followed through on his threat shortly after officers arrived on the scene.
"We had an unidentified male that jumped from the bridge just before 4:30 [a.m.]," said Sgt. Wes Talley, police spokesman.
After the incident, the westbound HOV lane on I-30 was closed until shortly before 7 a.m.
"We are still working on an ID," Talley said.
