Emily Bouyea- Visual Art Piece Headed to State CompetitionHeaded to State
Lisa Bonaquist
Congratulations to five of our Celina Middle School students whose artwork was selected by our Celina Judge, Wendy Osbourne, to continue on to the local competition. The local judging (students competed against many other schools such as Sherman, Van Alstyne, Mckinney, etc) was completed in late December and our students did wonderful. One of our talented students, Emily Bouyea, who is in 6th grade received the Award of Excellence and her visual- art piece which depicted the 2011 theme "Diversity Means" is headed to the State Competition. Also receiving recognition were Stori Smith and Emma KInsey who both received Awards of Merit. Liam Jorden and Blake Stogner were awarded Honorable Mentions. We are very proud of these students for their artistic efforts and hope that they will continue creating such meaningful artwork.
The artwork will be displayed, when returned from the local competition, in a few weeks in the Middle School Library.
