Trial date set for Loper murder suspect
By Bill Conrad, bconrad@acnpapers.com
A trial date has been set for the man accused of killing a 40-year-old Frisco woman.
Terrance Deering Black, 49, has been charged with murdering Susan Loper, a Pilates instructor at Plano's Gleneagles Country Club. Black's trial will begin Aug. 20 at the Collin County Courthouse.
Loper's body was found in a Frisco field on April 20, 2011, one day after she was reported missing after she failed to show up for classes at Gleneagles. Police affidavits said detectives found evidence of a struggle -- including a fired bullet and a broken jar -- at the country club, and described Loper's injuries as "overkill."
While awaiting trial on capital murder charges, Black is being held in the Collin County Jail on a $1 million bond.
