Coppell police seeking suspects

Published: Tuesday, March 27, 2012 3:21 PM CDT
Around 11:25 a.m. Monday, the Coppell Police Department received a report of a burglary in progress in the 600 block of Hollow Circle.

According to Coppell police, a resident had just returned home and saw the glass portion of his rear patio door was shattered and the door was ajar.

The resident entered the home and surprised two unknown male suspects who fled through the front door.

They ran to a black four door sedan with at least one additional occupant and drove away.

A patrol officer responding to the call noticed a vehicle with four occupants matching the descriptions provided. He followed the vehicle waiting for additional patrol units to assist with a traffic stop.

The vehicle turned into the neighborhood on E. Bethel Road and stopped on Glendale Drive. The three passengers fled on foot and the driver was taken into custody.

Officers established a perimeter and began searching for the other suspects. One was located and taken into custody in a field at S. Denton Tap Road and Southwestern Boulevard.

Officers continued searching for the other two suspects utilizing a police K-9 and the assistance of Dallas Police Department helicopter Air One. The other two suspects were not found.

Property belonging to the victim was found in the suspect vehicle. The two suspects in custody were charged with Burglary of Habitation, a second-degree felony.

The two at-large suspects are described as Colombian National males with short dark hair and similar complexions as the two in custody. One is between 6 foot and 6-foot-2 inches tall, and weighs between 200-225 pounds. The other is 5-6 to 5-8 and weighs between 170-180 pounds. Both suspects were last seen wearing tan work shirts over white t-shirts, blue jeans, tan baseball caps, and white tennis shoes.

If you have any information regarding these suspects or this offense, contact the Coppell Police Department at 972-304-3610 and ask to speak to a detective.
