By Chris Roark, croark@starlocalnews.com
Flower Mound Police arrested two brothers on charges of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
George Thomas Hollingsworth, 21, was arrested April 17, and Sidney Lee Hollingsworth, 25, was arrested April 19. Both are Lewisville residents.
According to police records, the brothers are accused of breaking into a Flower Mound home Oct. 11 in the 3500 block of Sunnyview Lane in Flower Mound.
The male resident told the suspects where the gun was, and when they went to find it, the male resident broke free of the ties.
Police said the resident went to retrieve a shot gun, but George Hollingsworth, the larger suspect, took it from the resident and hit him in the head with it.
Police said the suspects took $9,000 and left. The residents suffered minor injuries.
Assistant police chief Wendell Mitchell said the suspects were located thanks to a tip from the Denton County Sherriff’s Department, as well as an unrelated arrest of George Hollingsworth on two misdemeanor warrants.
Bond for each suspect was set at $20,000 for the aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon charge. George Hollingsworth was fined $389 for consumption of alcohol by a minor, and bond was set at $527.80 for speeding.
