COPPELL -- Hebron's boys soccer team need to win its last match of the regular season and a play-in match just to earn the No. 4 seed and qualify for the playoffs out of District 8-5A.

Now that they're in, they don't plan on going anywhere.

The Hawks went on the road and upended Coppell -- the No. 2 team in the state and fourth in the nation according to the ESPNHS Powerade Fab 50 poll -- Tuesday to advance to the area round off the playoffs with a 2-1 decision.

Connor Richmond got the Hawks on the board at the 20:28 mark of the first half when he hammered home a rebound off a shot by Ozmar Lopez, who generated the scoring chance by stealing the ball and carrying it down the left side of the pitch.

Despite facing its first deficit in the first half of the season, Coppell continued to battle and drew even with 22:49 remaining in the match when Chris Madden rushed to goal from the right and fired a shot that was deflected in.

Hebron quickly responded, however, with Richmond beating the defense down the sideline and working his way toward the goal before chipping the game-winner over Coppell's goalie and into the back of the net.

With the win, Hebron advances to the area round where they will face the winner between Irving Nimitz and Mansfield Timberview.
