Duke, Sheffield win LISD election

Kathy Duke and Trisha Sheffield have won the election for Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees.
Duke won Place 1, a spot vacated by Tom Ferguson. Through 98 percent of the voting precincts reported, Duke secured 6,064 votes (62 percent) compared to 2,393 votes (24 percent) by Paige Shoven. June Ehinger and Tracee Ali finished with 9 percent and 5 percent of the votes, respectively.
Duke rejoins the board after losing to Julie Foughty in 2010.
In Place 2, Sheffield (4,969 votes, 52 percent) defeated incumbent Vernell Gregg (3,830 votes, 40 percent) and Cornel Bekker (8 percent).
