LISD debate set for Thursday

The Carrollton Tea Party/Castle Hills Conservation Club will host a debate at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bolin Administration Center in Lewisville for the candidates running for Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees.

In Place 1, Kathy Duke, Paige Shoven, June Ehinger and Tracee Ali are the candidates. Incumbent Vernell Gregg, Trisha Sheffield and Cornel Bekker are running for Place 2.

Election Day is May 12. Early voting runs from Monday through May 8.

There will also be a forum at 7 p.m. May 8 for candidates running for State Representative District 65 and U.S. Congress Seat 24.

The event will take place at 7 p.m. at the Castle Hills Community Center, 2501 Queen Margaret Dr. in Lewisville. The meet-and-greet begins at 6:30 p.m.

State representative candidates are Ron Simmons, Michael Hennefer and David Loerwald. Candidates for the congressional seat are Kenny Marchant, Grant Stinchfield and Tim Rusk.
