Hutcheson, Noschese headed into runoff election

Incumbent Mesquite city councilman Brian Hutcheson is headed into a runoff election with former councilman Greg Noschese. With all 94 precincts reporting Noschese lead with 1,883 votes (49.36 percent) to Hutcheson’s 1,574 votes (41.26 percent). The third candidate on the ballot, retired Mesquite police officer Roger Barringer, secured 358 votes (9.38 percent).
Neither candidate was able to secure the 50.01 percent of the votes necessary to win the election, which will force a runoff.
