New buildings slated for Celina, Prosper

Among new building contracts let recently to Kindle & Johnson, Celina builders and lumber dealers is one for the construction of a new dwelling house in Celina for Mr. and Mrs. Allan Willard and another for a new business building in Prosper for Buddy Carey.

The Willard house will be in the Massey addition. Work is expected to begin in about two weeks on the brick structure.

The business building for Carey will house his grocery store and will face south on Prosper's main street, between the Co-op store and Nevins service station. It will be built of solid brick and will be 41 feet 4 inches by 81 feet 4 inches in size. It will also house the Prosper barber shop, owned by George Parvin.

Work gets under way on new fire station

Brick walls of the fire station at Celina's city hall came tumbling down this week preparatory to erection of the new building which will house Celina's fire trucks and city jail.

The new building for which Kindle & Johnson has the contract at $3,800, will be 24 by 40 feet in size, of solid brick construction.

Fire trucks will emerge from the new building into an alley on the south before going into the street. There will be three windows and a door on the east along the sidewalk, and the fire trucks will be admitted through two 10 by 8-ft. Doors on the south.

The south entrance, according to city authorities, will help to eliminate a traffic hazard. The old building was 13 by 26 feet.
