McKinney North senior Holly Gardner took her game to the next level last Thursday by signing on to play soccer at Howard Payne University.
Gardner's brother, Kelley, served as an ambassador of sorts for the university. He currently plays for the Yellowjackets, and family trips to Brownwood to watch his games helped draw her interest.
“Every time we would go watch him play, I would get more interested,” Gardner said. “Then, their coach started talking to me and made me want to go there.”
“She is one of those people that does everything 100 percent all the time,” said Lance Lovell, North head girls soccer coach. “She gives everything she has and works hard. She's determined, dedicated, loyal and perseveres through a great deal of adversity very well.”
