Levenick selected as Place 5 council member in Flower Mound

After thorough deliberation and interviewing 13 potential candidates, the Flower Mound Town Council unanimously voted to appoint former council member Jean Levenick to the vacant Place 5 position.
Place 5 became vacant when Tom Hayden ran for mayor.
Levenick rejoins the council with a strong record of supporting basic municipal services, recreational projects and programs, and local businesses. In addition, she has expressed unwavering support for the current oil and gas ordinance and the pipeline ordinance, the Master Plan, and maintaining the town’s low tax rate.
“When interviewing for the appointment, I assured the council of my support and commitment to maintain the current oil and gas ordinances,” Levenick said. “It is clear each member of the council is unified in their support of these important ordinances.”
She has been appointed to serve the remaining 11 months of the current Place 5 term. During her term on the council, she was instrumental in improving the town’s thoroughfare infrastructure, boosting public safety efforts, and attracting quality economic developments such as the town’s first hospital. Her experience on the council will allow her to seamlessly transition into her new role in Place 5.
“Jean was an outstanding councilmember the first time around, and will be just as exceptional while serving in Place 5,” Hayden said. “Her record of serving the community with a servant’s heart is impeccable and we all look forward to working with her to move Flower Mound into the future.”
A Flower Mound resident for 16 years, Levenick has been involved with several governmental organizations, from the local school district to the county level.
Some of her contributions include serving as an advocate for CASA of Denton County, a member of the Town’s Planning and Zoning Commission, and a member of the Community Emergency Response Team.
