Town East Mall Marches to a Patriotic Beat! Kids Club Salutes Flag Day on Wednesday, June 13

Thursday, June 14 is Flag Day in America, and in celebration, Town East Mall plans a special Kids Club salute to the flag on Wednesday, June 13. Little citizens are invited to come at 11 a.m. and participate in You’re a Grand Old Flag, a high-flying celebration of the Stars and Stripes. There will be stories, singing and dancing – perhaps a march or two. Little guests will be invited to color a patriotic placemat and Town East Mall will laminate the placement so that it’s ready for the table.

Flag Day is celebrated annually on June 14, but it is not an official federal holiday.
Americans celebrate Flag Day by displaying the flag.
The American flag has 13 red-and-white stripes representing the 13 original colonies. Each of the 50 states is represented by a white star.
You’re a Grand Old Flag is a patriotic march written by George M. Cohan as a tribute to the U.S. flag.
Kids Club starts at 11 a.m. on the lower level near Dillard’s and lasts from 30 to 45 minutes. Activities are designed for children two to six, but all ages are welcome. There’s no fee for Kids Club and reservations are not required, but adults are asked to sign up little ones at the event. Parents/caregivers are required to stay with children. Adults who are bringing five or more children should call 972.270.4431 so that club organizers will have a giveaway for every participant.
In July, Kids Club is Hot Fun in the Summertime! and will be Wednesday, July 11 at 11 a.m. on the lower level near Dillard’s. Kids Club is held monthly on the second Wednesday. Each month will feature a different theme with a variety of activities and crafts specially designed for the little guests.
