Hoorah for the Stars & Stripes Parade! Vista Ridge Mall celebrates America's birthday Wednesday, July 4

On Wednesday, July 4, Vista Ridge Mall celebrates America’s birthday with an old-fashioned parade and in-the-mall block party.


The fun starts at 11 a.m. when little ones are invited to join Uncle Sam for a parade through the shopping center. Children can dress in America’s colors and decorate tricycles, strollers or wagons in the red, white and blue.

The parade starts in Center Court and travels through the shopping center, ending back in Center Court where a DJ will rock the mall with music and host fun games with prizes. Crafts with a patriotic theme along with face painting will also be a part of the festivities. All activities are free and will begin after the parade and continue until 2 p.m.

“Our Fourth of July Stars & Stripes Parade is a healthy dose of good old American fun. The mall is filled with the spirit of the day, with everyone celebrating our freedom and saluting this great country. Kids dress in red, white and blue, plus decorate their trikes – the level of creativity is amazing,” says Leanne Lowry, general manager of Vista Ridge Mall. “It’s fun for the kids who parade and for the shoppers who wave and encourage the fun. Plus, because the parade is inside, everyone stays cool on what is usually one of the hottest days of the year. Kids stay for the activities and everyone can stop for a quick indoor lunch in the Food Court.”

To participate in the Stars & Stripes Parade, children and parents/caregivers should begin to gather inside Vista Ridge Mall near Oasis Cafe before 11 a.m. Children may be on decorated tricycles or in strollers or wagons. The parade does not accommodate children on bicycles. Uncle Sam will kick off the parade at 11 am. The activities are designed for children eight and under, but all ages are welcome.

Vista Ridge Mall is open on Wednesday, July 4 from 10 am to 6 pm. Please note that some stores, restaurants and entertainment venues at Vista Ridge Mall may observe different hours. Please call for exact opening and closing times.
