The Collin County Commissioners Court on Monday agreed to an interlocal agreement with the city of McKinney for road improvements on Eldorado and Virginia parkways.
The McKinney City Council had approved the agreement May 1.
Together, the two entities will spend about $4 million for the design and construction of right-turn and dual left-turn lanes along Virginia Parkway at Lake Forest Drive and at Hardin Boulevard, and along Eldorado Parkway at Hardin Boulevard, Lake Forest Drive, Ridge Road, Alma Road and Stonebridge Drive.
Improvements will also include design and construction of utility adjustments, storm-drain adjustments and traffic-signal adjustments. County Judge Keith Self said the city will be in charge of selecting contractors for the design and construction of the projects.
Work on the bond projects is expected to begin within the next few weeks and be completed by the end of the year.
The agreement is one of several interlocal agreements between the county and city for road improvements.
In other action Monday, the commissioners approved interlocal agreements with both the Anna Independent School District and the Blue Ridge Independent School District for health-related data sharing. Commissioners also voted to re-designate County Road 984 as Eastham Lane, with associated address updates.
