Fire damages home on Aztec

The Colony firefighters responded to a residential structure fire on Aztec Drive June 13 which caused major damage to the home's interior.
The call first came in 3:06 p.m., with units arriving by 3:07 p.m. Fire Chief Scott Thompson said the fire started in the kitchen as a result of cooking and quickly spread to the living room.
"There was significant damage to those two rooms, and smoke and heat damage throughout the house," Thompson said.
No other injuries were reported.
The damage has made the home uninhabitable and the homeowners have been in contact with the Red Cross for assistance.
TCFD units cleared the scene by 5:38 p.m.
