Local Students Receive Scholarships

As a part of their continuing commitment for service to the community, the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Men's Club of Plano, TX, awarded a total of $20,000.00 in college and high school scholarships to local students.  Men's Club President Tom DuRoss and Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Pastor Fr. Bruce Bradley presented the scholarship award winners at the monthly Men's Club meeting held on June 13, 2010, in the SEAS Parish Hall before an audience of members, family, and friends.


The three recipients of a 1-yr. $1,000.00 High School Scholarship were Ross Frick, III of Allen, TX (Ereckson Middle School, Allen, TX), Marie Laing of Plano, TX (St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School, Richardson, TX), and Shawn Regan of Plano, TX (St. Mark Catholic School, Plano, TX).

Students who received a 1-yr. $2,000.00 College Scholarship were as follows:  Tyler Davidson of Plano, TX (Plano Sr. High School), Rukshinie Fernando of Plano, TX (Ursuline Academy, Dallas, TX), Mark Honrales of Murphy, TX (Jesuit College Preparatory School, Dallas, TX), Edward Hunt of Plano, TX (Plano Sr. High School), Daniel Martin of Plano, TX (Plano Sr. High School), and Jim McCabe of Plano (Jesuit College Preparatory School, Dallas, TX).  The winner of the 4-yr. $1,250.00 College Scholarship was Elizabeth Boddicker of Plano, TX (John Paul II High School, Plano, TX).

The Men's Club congratulates all of these fine students for their academic and community service efforts.   Men's Club meetings are scheduled on the  second  Wednesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Faith Formation Center located at Spring Creek and Independence Parkways, Plano, TX.  All guests are welcome to attend any meeting.
