Madeline Sosnowski, age 16, of Allen, TX has been accepted into and will attend Interlochen Arts Camp for her fourth consecutive year this summer. Interlochen Arts Camp is the world’s premier summer arts program for aspiring artists grades 3 through 12. Sosnowski, the daughter of Laura & Scott Sosnowski, will study Repertory Theatre at the Camp. In 2012, the Camp will mark its 85th season at the forefront of arts education.

Madeline will be appearing as Janet Snug in Ken Ludwig's Midsummer/Jersey, a humorous retelling of Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream set in modern day New Jersey. The production at Interlochen will be the first performance of Midsummer/Jersey since its premiere this fall. Mr. Ludwig has written 6 Broadway shows and received numerous awards. He will be working closely with the students at Interlochen this summer and Ms. Sosnowski is looking forward to this once in a lifetime experience.

Interlochen Arts Camp attracts students, faculty and staff from all 50 U.S. states and more than 40 countries. These 3,000 artists fill Interlochen’s northwoods campus with an explosion of creativity. Student-artists learn from world-class instructors and produce hundreds of presentations each summer in dance, theatre, creative writing, visual arts, music and film.

Among the distinguished Camp alumni are Norah Jones, singer Josh Groban, members of the band OK Go, Rufus Wainwright, opera and concert soprano Jessye Norman, conductor Loren Maazel, jazz pianist Eldar, actor Anthony Rapp, cartoonist Cathy Guisewite and many more. Approximately ten percent of the nation’s professional orchestra musicians have roots at Interlochen and the alumni community has been awarded 89 Grammy Awards.

In the fall, Madeline will return to Allen High School as a senior and continue her theatrical education under director Ms. Carrie Howell. She will also be President of the AHS Thespian Society for the 2012-2013 school year.
