Published: Tuesday, July 3, 2012 4:09 PM CDT
You've come a long way, Baby. And the Dallas Women's Foundation wants to make sure you continue to succeed.

Any non-profit investing its resources to address issues facing women and girls is cordially invited to apply for a grant courtesy of Dallas Women's Foundation. Application deadline is Monday, July 9.

Dallas Women's Foundation invested $139,250 this year in Collin County toward its stated mission to strengthen entire communities by increasing resources geared toward empowering women and girls, and similar philanthropy. Recipients include Texas Muslim Women's Foundation, which received a grant of $67,250 to help provide general operating support toward a domestic violence shelter, among other social programs. Hope's Door was awarded $12,000 to help underwrite expenses for its domestic violence shelter. Habitat for Humanity of South Collin County acquired $60,000 via Dallas Women's Foundation to provide support for the 11th Street Development Project.

"Having the support of Dallas Women's Foundation is tremendously important to Hope's Door and our mission to end domestic violence," said Pat Tosi, CEO of Hope's Door. "We are grateful for their dedication to resolving issues that affect the quality of life for women and girls in our community."

To be eligible for consideration, an organization must meet the following criteria:

* Have current 501(c)(3) tax-exempt designation from the Internal Revenue Service (dated within the past 10 years).

* At least 50 percent of its clients are residents of Dallas, Denton or Collin counties.

* At least 75 percent of clients benefitting from the grant funding are women and girls.

As part of its vetting process, Dallas Women's Foundation evaluates each grant based on attributes such as long-term chances for helping women succeed in reaching their full potential; offering choice and opportunities for women and girls; utilizing tools that include measurement for effectiveness with clear definition of program success; and designing programs that specifically take into consideration the needs and differences of women and girls.

Dallas Women's Foundation is the largest regional women's fund in the world. In its 27-year history, DWF has invested more than $19 million toward programs benefitting women and girls and the greater community. For more information, visit www.DallasWomensFoundation.org.
