Edith Merle Beeson Bradley
Services for Edith Merle Beeson Bradley of West Monroe, LA, were held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012 in Feazel Chapel at First Baptist Church in West Monroe with Dr. Toby Frost officiating. Burial followed in Mulhearn Memorial Park in Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bradley was born on June 4, 1921 in West Monroe and went to be with her Savior on July 2, 2012 at the age of 91 while residing at Rosemont Assisting Living Center in West Monroe. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (John 14:2 NKJV).

In Mother's Heavenly home there will be glorious music and praise in the midst of a joyous family reunion. Her legacy of finding beauty in all things, tender encouragement, lively sense of humor and deep Christian faith will live on through generations.

Mother grew up in West Monroe, helping her mother, Emma Moore Beeson, in her beauty salon until she met the love of her life, James Bradley, at Ouachita Parish High School in Monroe. She was a devoted, loving wife and wonderful mother.

In her younger days, Mother attended the Methodist Church in West Monroe and after marriage, invested her life in the First Baptist Church of West Monroe and in the lives of her family. She was a youth Sunday school teacher, choir member and served in many other ways as she saw a need. Her Bible was not far from her side, especially in the quiet of the mornings with a cup of coffee.

Mother was a talented vocalist, singing in various choral groups throughout her life. She especially enjoyed the senior choirs and church fellowship that she and James shared together in their retirement years in Texas including Tyler, McKinney and Frisco. She was active in the CPA Wives Club and delighted in cooking delicious meals for her family and friends. She also loved to travel, enjoyed growing many varieties of flowers and vegetables in her garden and was a talented seamstress.

Mrs. Bradley is preceded in death by her parents, William Walter and Emma Beeson, her beloved brother, Walter Clayton Beeson and sister, Rosalie Beeson Norris, two daughters, Nancy Carole Bradley Whitlatch and infant daughter, Susan Bradley.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, James B. Bradley Jr., daughter, Linda Bradley Norwood and husband Jim of West Monroe; son, Richard Bradley and wife Sheryl of West Monroe; son-in-law, Blake Whitlatch of Prairieville, LA; and her sister, Billie Beeson Dupre of West Monroe. Also left to cherish her memory are her beloved eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were her grandsons. Visitation was from 2-5 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2012.

Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home or First Baptist Church of West Monroe. Online Registry/Condolences: www.mulhearnfuneralhome.com.
