THE COLONY -- In the past two weeks, The Colony Police Department served two search warrants at two separate residences in the city, seizing stolen property and a variety of illegal drugs. Six individuals were arrested on various charges in conjunction with the searches.
TCPD spokesman Lt. Darren Brockway said police were not aware of any connection between the two residences or the alleged criminal activity taking place.
The first warrant was served at about 6 a.m. on June 29 in the 5000 block of Brandenburg Lane. Police recovered stolen property which originated from both The Colony and Plano, according to a release. Methamphetamine and "similar chemicals" were found throughout the residence.
The stolen property included a motor vehicle from Plano and various items burglarized from homes in The Colony.
Three suspects -- John Alberson, 33; Clint Rice, 32; and Edward Richison, 34; -- were arrested at this address and all were charged with possession of a controlled substance and felony theft.
Brockway said the exact nature of the other chemicals found on Brandenburg is still being confirmed but that police know it to be a controlled substance.
The second warrant was served about 5:30 a.m. on July 6 in the 3600 block of Lake Park Drive. Stolen property originating from Oklahoma (a motor vehicle) along with methamphetamine and a "substantial" amount of marijuana were found at the residence. Police also seized other items believed to be stolen, and detectives are still investigating where those items may have come from, according to the release.
Justin Carniero, 20, and Carolyn Isham, 34, were arrested at the residence and charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance and felony theft, in addition to charges stemming from other law enforcement agencies. Michael Downy, 40, also was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and felony theft.
