Lewisville officer, dispatcher honored
The Lewisville Police Department recently named officer Schnequa Guy as Officer of the First Quarter 2012 and dispatcher Cassie Race as Civilian of the First Quarter 2012. Both employees were recognized for their outstanding job performance.
KLB to host composting class
Keep Lewisville Beautiful will host a free Garden Secrets Class, "Composting," from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 19 at the Memorial Park Recreation Center. RSVP is required by emailing info@keeplewisvillebeautiful.org. The mission of Keep Lewisville Beautiful is to empower the citizens of Lewisville through education to take greater responsibility in enhancing their community environment.
Lewisville library's summer specials continue
Lewisville Public Library summer grade school special is held at 7 p.m. on Mondays. During the summer months, the library hosts Reading Detectives Specials for grades kindergarten through fifth.
Lewisville Public Library summer preschool specials are held at 11:30 a.m. on Fridays. Join the fun with the Clue Finders for ages 3 through 6.
The Dragon Readers Book Club is for all children going into grades fourth and fifth.
Teen role playing sessions are held on Monday nights. All role playing sessions are from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in Teen Point (second floor of the library). Teens ages 12-18 are welcome.
Summer teen Thursday night specials are held weekly at 6:30 p.m. Space is limited. To sign up, call or visit the youth services desk.
