Plano Police detectives, working with law enforcement personnel from Genesee County, Mich., safely located Nathan Burgett in LaPeer, Mich on Wednesday. No criminal offenses have been reported at this time and Burgett will return to Texas on his own.

Update: 7/19 8:15 p.m.

A family spokeswoman told The Plano Star Courier that search and rescue teams searched for Nathan Burgett Thursday morning and evening. The searches have covered much of Bob Woodruff Park, an area Burgett has been known to frequent.

Original story: 7/18 2:30 p.m.

Plano police are searching for a 32-year-old Plano man who went for a walk Tuesday afternoon and failed to return home.

Nathan Burgett, his wife Michelle and their three young children live in the 1400 block of Sherrye Drive in east Plano. Michelle told police that when Nathan left the house at 2 p.m. Tuesday, he did so without his vehicle, wallet or cell phone. When he didn't return home, she contacted police to report him missing.

Burgett has brown hair and is described as being a little more than 6 feet tall and about 270 pounds. He was last seen wearing a light-colored Polo-style shirt, dark jeans and brown flip flops.

A family spokeswoman said Burgett recently quit his job.

Officer David Tilley of the Plano Police Department said the case has been assigned to a detective and that Burgett will be listed as missing with the FBI's National Crime Information Center. Tilley said while it is not a crime for an adult to go missing, the department would like to find Burgett to ensure he is safe.

Anyone with information on Burgett's whereabouts is asked to call the Plano Police Department at 972-424-5678.
