Severe weather possible early Thursday morning
From staff reports
Southlake and surrounding cities are looking at the possibility of severe weather early Thursday morning.
The storms are expected to arrive in the Southlake area between 2 and 5 a.m. According to the National Weather Service the storms will move south to southeast with winds that could be in excess of 70 miles per hour.
"These types of storms can be very dangerous, especially since they come through when most people are asleep. Because of this, it's very important for people to stay informed,” said Kyle Taylor, Southlake's emergency management coordinator.
Taylor also indicated that large hail and an isolated tornado, while unlikely, cannot be ruled out. City staff will be keeping a close eye on this storm throughout the evening.
