Making it to the 2012 London Olympic Games was an incredibly challenging feat for every athlete, regardless of the sport.
Advancing in the competition was even tougher.
Plano-trained athletes Zain Shaito, 21, and Mona Shaito, 18, learned that firsthand as the siblings had a tough run while competing for Lebanon in fencing.
Mona was the more successful of the two.
In women's individual foil, Mona beat Egypt's Shaimaa Elgammal in the first round, 7-6, before falling to Italy's Elisa Di Francisca in the Round of 32. Di Francisca went on to win the gold medal.
Zain lost his opening bracket match in men's individual foil to China's Jun Zhu, 15-2.
