| Betty Ruth Miller McGinnis |
Betty Ruth Miller McGinnis, age 80, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away August 6, 2012 from complications of diabetes.
Betty was born October 13, 1931 in Hubbard, Texas to parents Prudence and Tom Miller.The sixth of seven children, she grew up with her beloved little brother, Jimmy, on the family farm and graduated from Hubbard High School in 1947.
Betty was gifted in the art of needle work and examples of her cross-stitch are proudly displayed in the fellowship hall of Reid Memorial Church in Hurlford, Scotland.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings Haskell, Lorine, Bob, Bill and Jimmy, and husband Thomas Elbert McGinnis.
She is survived by her sister, Oleta Hodges; son, Paul McGinnis; daughter, Prudence Dianne McGinnis; along with Audrey Marsh, Chris Becker and a host of other family and friends.
A memorial service is planned at a later date with internment of the ashes on the family property in Hubbard, Texas.
The family wishes to thank the staff of 6 North at Denton Regional Hospital along with Dr. Mario Ruiz, Dr. Stanley Evans and Dr. Carlos Cruz for their compassion and exceptional medical care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The American Diabetes Association in Betty's honor.
