CISD board approves Student Code of Conduct for 2012-2013

The Celina Board of Trustees approved the Student Code of Conduct for the coming school year at the regular July meeting.
The board wanted to make sure that wording was added in the code of conduct to allow for the use of communication devices at the discretion of teachers at each campus. That way use of mobile phones and other devices is not totally prohibited. Students will be able to use those devices at school for school work with the teacher’s approval.
The Professional Development Appraisal System calendar was also approved for the coming school year. The calendar shows when teachers will be evaluated in the classroom.
The hire of five new teachers was also approved. Stephanie Place will teach math at Celina High School, Cynthia Baker is the new drama teacher at the high school, Courtney Braddock and T. Lynn Bowen will teach science at CHS and Kristina Stoner will teach sixth grade science.
