The Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District continues to grow this year as the administration welcomes a new director of fine arts.

Brett Farr has been chosen as the director of fine arts for C-FB ISD. Farr comes to C-FB ISD with 23 years of experience in education, according to the school district.

Farr, previously spent four years as an administrator at Lubbock ISD, where he was the director of choral activities at Coronado High School. He also has former experience as a choral director.

"I have known of the high level of achievement from the fine arts disciplines in C-FB ISD for quite some time," Farr said. "I am excited to be associated with such talented students and teachers."

As director of fine arts, Farr will lead the department and supervise fine arts programs such as band, choir, theater, speech, drill team, orchestra and debate, according to C-FB ISD's website.

"I will have the pleasure of overseeing all of the fine arts disciplines with regard to facilitating programs by oversight of personnel, budget and curriculum," he said.

In his new role, he hopes to ensure the continued success of the fine arts programs at C-FB ISD.

"My main goal is to increase both student and teacher success," Farr said. "As I am new to the district, I plan to spend much time meeting teachers, observing the process currently in place, and over time make needed changes that will enhance each area represented within the Fine Arts department."

Farr said he looks forward to joining the C-FB ISD team and seeing students and teachers achieve their goals in fine arts.

"I love to see students and teachers achieve success," Farr said. "The arts allow for creative self-expression while stimulating student minds to higher levels of thinking and problem solving."

Dr. Burns, superintendent of the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District, welcomes Farr onto the district's staff this year and looks forward to his work in helping to achieve the school district's goals for teachers and students.

"C-FB welcomes our new staff members and those who are serving our students in new roles," Dr. Burns said. "We have hired the best and the brightest for Team C-FB and they will help us accomplish our goal of high achievement for all students."
