Billie Sue Anderson, age 80, of Ft. Worth, Texas passed away August 13, 2012.
She was born June 30, 1932 in McKinney, Texas to William Shaw Anderson and Dixie Vida (Brimer) Anderson.Billie Sue graduated from McKinney High School and received her Bachelor of Science and Master's Degree in Physical Education from Texas Christian University.
Billie Sue's mother owned and operated Dixie's Store in McKinney, Texas which subsequently was donated to Chestnut Square. She also donated a portion of her parent's property to the Buckner Children's Home in Dallas.
Billie Sue was an ardent supporter of TCU and the promotion of women's athletics.
She is survived by friends, Blake Amos and wife, Sonia of Ft. Worth, Texas, Wendy Warner of Ohio and her beloved cats. She touched the lives of many close friends, colleagues and students throughout her career.
She was preceded in death by her parents, W.S. and Dixie Anderson.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Pecan Grove Cemetery, McKinney, Texas. Family and friends are invited to Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas at their convenience on Friday to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
Memorials may be made to TCU Women's Athletic Department or to The Humane Society of North Texas.
